Africa's Children in Education

Merry Christmas – with Christmas Matchboxes and Wishing Wells!

A very Happy Christmas to you all from ACE and from all the children and staff at Arise Primary School. A huge “thank you” to all our donors, sponsors and everyone who has supported us in 2014, including our “Buy a Breakfast” Christmas Appeal.

We would especially like to thank all the local schoolchildren who have fundraised for Arise School in so many different ways. As term finished last week, we went into two schools to see how they had been raising money for the “Buy a Breakfast” Appeal in the run up to Christmas.

The children of West End Primary School, Ormskirk, decorated matchboxes in so many beautiful and creative ways. They then put money in them and took them into school to hang on the Christmas Tree.

In St. Helens, children from Queens Park Primary School made a wish as they put their coins into a wishing well which was part of a display, including the Tanzanian flag, in the school reception

Thank you so much to all the schoolchildren and their families for all the money raised. This will enable us to begin to provide breakfast for the children at Arise School from the start of the new school year in January. It will make such a difference to their lives and, undoubtedly, help them to make the most of their education.

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and we look forward to your ongoing support in 2015.
