Fun and Enjoyment on the Arise School Netball Court!

Fridays at Arise School always buzz with excitement as students look forward to their weekly sports session. Freed from the constraints of the academic curriculum, they are able to engage in various sporting activities. An atmosphere of fun, enjoyment and camaraderie always prevails.

A recent highlight was a friendly netball competition between Grades 5 and 6. Both teams showcased their skills on the court. Whilst the more experienced Grade 6 emerged as the winners, the match proved much more than a game. For all students, it was a true demonstration of the time they had spent practising, their team work and determination – an opportunity for them all to learn and grow from the experience.

Arise School has promoted opportunities for sport since its very early days. Staff recognise that sporting activities are a fundamental part of their pupils’ learning journeys, contributing not only to physical health but, also, playing a crucial role in developing social skills and emotional wellbeing.

Students gain in confidence, find motivation and self esteem that stays with them and has spin-offs into other areas of their lives. Sport benefits the school community as a whole. Not least, it brings fun and joy into young lives where the opportunity for this is often sadly lacking.
