Class One’s Version of the ‘Birdie Song’!

Eight of the 45 children who are currently sponsored through the ACE Sponsorship Scheme are now in Class 1. Aged 5 to 8 years, some of them have been attending Arise Community School since early 2013 when it first started. Others have started at the school since. They all love going to school.

What is amazing is the grasp the children now have of English, their third language. The short video shows how much they enjoy singing. It also shows how their understanding of their new language is developing. When they finish Class 1 at the end of November, the end of this school year, they will still have another six years in Primary School. We anticipate that by then they will be speaking English fluently! We hope that will prove a tremendous advantage for them as they then take their next steps in life.

Although they have so little, the children are always happy. We hope you will feel something of that and share in their happiness when you listen to them singing. Listening to them certainly gives us the “feel good” factor!
