Breakfast is Served!

When the pupils at Arise School reported back to school last week after the Christmas break, their faces broke into smiles as they saw what was waiting for them – breakfast! It may have been a late Christmas present – probably the only one they would have had – but it would certainly have been the best.

This was made possible entirely through the success of our Christmas “Buy a Breakfast” Appeal. Everyone has been so incredibly generous – from those of you who have made one-off donations to those of you who have set up regular standing orders. From sponsors and regular donors to one-off donors, from family and friends to local schools and individuals, everyone has given so freely.

Thank you, too, to those of you who have donated to the Appeal and given Gift Certificates to family and friends in lieu of Christmas presents or cards. We have received enough to start providing breakfasts throughout 2015 and to feel sure that we have your ongoing support to continue to help us to raise the £2,000 needed each year.

Thank you so much to everyone concerned for making this possible. We know that the children will now have fuller tummies. That will help them concentrate and make the most of the opportunity of education they now have.

Breakfast is served between 7 – 7.50 a.m. Already, the children are arriving into school early to make sure they have time to eat their breakfast before lessons start at 8 a.m. We are sure that their motivation and enthusiasm will be reflected in their studies!

Our ongoing “Buy a Breakfast” 2015 Appeal will now become a fundraising focus in order to ensure that ACE is able to live up to its promise to provide the children with breakfast every school day of the future. We very much hope that you will continue to support us in this by making a donation online through our website or setting up a standing order.

A one-off donation of £20 will “buy a breakfast” for one child for every day of the school year

A standing order of £10 per month will “buy a breakfast” for six children for every day of the school year
